Exploring distant lands and discovering new cultures is delightful but few things in this world can compare with the Iowa State Fair (where, you could argue, there are also new cultures to discover). Our love and fascination with the Fair is great enough for us to plan a vacation around it. This year's Fair did not disappoint and there was something of interest to people of all ages and backgrounds. Please forgive the use of all of the superlatives below.

The fair is a dieter's nightmare but it is so many delicious. We avoided any stomach aches and still managed to eat a LOT. I'm already hungry for our next visit.
