One of the best parts of staying in Luang Prabang--sunsets on the Mekong. I could stay here for hours or at least for the 45 minutes it takes the sun to set (especially if there is Beer Lao and fried river weed, which is surprisingly good and perfect for eating with beer).
And when the sun goes down, you can explore Luang Prabang's night market selling all sorts of handicrafts, books, jewelry...well, almost anything. My favorite stall is the coffee company that provides a good cup of coffee and, if you speak Lao and smile, will give you a little bit of Baileys to go with it.
