Buddha Park...Again

You may remember Buddha Park from such visits as 2009 and 2010. Lonely Planet earned their keep with this review because it seems like everyone who visits Vientiane wants to go to Buddha Park. Luckily each time we visit we discover something new and you can certainly tell the difference with each season. Still, after all of these visits, we are still amazed that one man's spiritual vision inspired this park.

The park--in all its splendor
How dare someone try to eat her when she is wearing her new hat?
Japanese Tourist Picture
This guy was hidden in the trees and left us wondering, "Who is playing that flute?" We soon discovered who was playing the flute but were shocked to see how he was playing the flute...with his nose. While we watched, he asked some passing tourists where they were from.
"Norway," they responded.
"Mawg-way," he repeated.
"No, Norway. You know, Scandinavia."
Well, apparently he didn't know Scandinavia as he repeated, "Mawg-way."
"Norway!"
This conversation went on for several minutes. As we walked away, he began playing the Celine Dion song from Titanic and I was left wondering where Mawg-way came from. Was he a fan of Last of the Mohicans?
