Khon Kaen

Now that things have quieted down in Thailand, we are beginning to venture back to our neighbor across the Mekong. Recently we had a little weekend getaway to Udon Thani and Khon Kaen. The purpose of the trip to Udon Thani was to visit the dentist and then on to Khon Kaen for some shopping and good old fashion consumerism. We were so excited that we forgot our camera though so you will have to relive the trip through websites--Apologies.

Every trip to Thailand begins with a journey through customs and immigration at the Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge. Our dentist appointments took place at this hospital. Finally we arrived at this hotel, which is surely one of the few places in the world where you can have Vietnamese appetizers, a Chinese meal and then end the night with German beers. Finally we spent a lot of time at the mall, shopping, eating at Sizzler, and enjoying cheesy romantic comedy movies.
