It is not officially official yet but we recently received word that we would be heading to Kampala, Uganda for our next posting. That's right, the "Pearl of Africa" and home to a rapidly increasing number of wild animals. Though sad to realize that our time in Laos is coming to a close, we are excited about our next adventure and the opportunity to return to Africa. We will also be living only 35 miles from the equator and, though once again land-locked, only a short distance from one of Africa's great lakes and (one of) the source(s) of the Nile. From our initial research, it sounds like Uganda is a land of superlatives: friendliest people, most temperate climate, best bird watching, and one of the highest levels of alcohol consumption in the world. If that isn't enough to encourage a visit, maybe this will do a better job of promoting Uganda.
