We had a visitor recently so we decided to take a short road trip to the Lao National Zoo--a place we had wanted to visit for a long time. Having seen zoos in some other developing countries, our expectations were pretty low and we were pleasantly surprised. Evan was even able to ride an elephant.
Finally, we saw gibbons. Who knew that instead of traveling to the Gibbon Experience in northern Laos, we could have just visited the zoo.
Animal with a Vietnamese name that we cannot recall. A quick Internet search did not reveal anything so we can probably assume this animal is incredibly unique and rare.
