The first week we arrived in Laos I interviewed for the position and yesterday I found out the position is mine. There are a few more hoops to jump through before I start but it looks like I will start soon after I return from the States in July.

I got the job
The US embassy in Laos has a few positions within the embassy that they hold for family members. Three of these positions are coming available this summer of the three I only qualify for one (due to nepotism and my lack of experience in Laos). Before we left DC I applied for the AGSO position, which is the assistant to the General Service Officer A.K.A embassy logistics. The position excites me because 1) I get to work very closely with our Lao staff, who don't speak English and therefore I would be forced to learn Lao language well 2) I would get to go to the markets in both Laos and Thailand to buy supplies for the embassy 3) I would get to learn about the logistics of the embassy.
