More Internet issues but we have a blinking modem again and are ready to post. Judging by the volume of comments, it is clear why people read our blog...and it isn't us. It's our dog. I'm smart enough to give the people what they want and, therefore, we proudly (re)introduce Berry, our puppy.
As some of you know the decision of what to name the dog was quite an ordeal. So how did we get to Berry? Well, it's quite simple really. Initially, Berry was named Mee, which means Bear in Lao. We quickly discovered though that you could not give a dog the same name as a pronoun in English. So, for a few days the puppy was simply Bear. This evolved into Barry because it is was easier for the Lao to say. It was also a modest salute to our President. However, it didn't seem right naming a female dog Barry, so we changed one letter and our reasoning--rather than being named after the President we would name her after fruit.
Berry still isn't much of a guard dog. Unfortunately she spends most of her time around humans in the position below, which is endearing but not very threatening. The only time she refused to lay on her back was last weekend when she made her first trip to the vet. Actually Berry did pretty well during the first two shots but the larger rabies shot was just too much for her. She whined about the shot for about two days and refused to listen when I tried to explain that it was for her own good.
Do you guys need a dog walker? I'm thinking of franchising.
