Even though it rained for almost the entire two days we were there, we still loved Hoi An for its food (more on that later), shopping, and old architecture. Hoi An has been a trading port since the 17th century and it is easy to see (even from underneath an umbrella) the European, Chinese and Japanese influences as you stroll the narrow streets. Next time, and there will definitely be a next time, we will plan our trip for the non-rainy season so that we can go diving, enjoy the beach, and visit the ancient Cham site of My Son.
