My Favorite Mode of Transportation

For our first few weeks in Vientiane before our car arrived Neal road to work in an embassy car.  I on the other hand had to fend for myself, which should say, I was happy to do.  The quickest, easiest, and most accessible transportation in Vientiane is tuk tuks.  I came to appreciate the beauty of a quality tuk tuk.  The tuk tuk drivers pride themselves on having the best decorated and most beautiful tuk tuk on the road (the aesthetics are much more important than the mechanics to most of the drivers).  Many of the tuk tuks have hand painted tropical scenery on their sides.   Here are a few pictures of my favorites.  You can see from the pictures tuk tuks come in many shapes and sizes.
